Sport and Pupil Achievements

All pupils have an equal opportunity to take part in all sports regardless of ability. All pupils will be encouraged to achieve to the best of their ability in all sports.

Pupils will be selected for competitive team games according to their ability.

We play matches against other schools, usually football, netball and rugby to;

• improve our skills
• win / lose in the right manner
• work as a team
• promote a competitive spirit
• enjoy ourselves

As we are so close to Great Sankey Leisure Centre we use the swimming pool and employ fully qualified swimming teachers.

We also use a local gymnastics coach to teach gym and use sporting bodies to coach the children in various team games.  This year we have added tennis.

We believe in sport for all as well as sport for excellence. We have children who are members of various academies such as Manchester United and Everton Ladies football teams.

At the end of each academic year the "Tim Parry Trophy" is awarded to the best "all-round" boy or girl from Year 6.
