Induction process

a) Foundation Stage Parents

Contact begins within a free viewing Open Week for Reception pupils in October before the start of school life the following September.

Once a place is offered pupils and Parents are invited in to a welcome play hour where they will meet teacher, support staff and Headteacher. At this meeting we set up our pre school groups which are run once a week during the summer term before they start.

At the end of these sessions we announce classes and teachers for the new year and then the pupils come in for half days( mornings or afternoons) for the first 3 weeks of the new term in September. After that we have a final induction meeting for all parents early in October to cover any issues that may have arisen.

Thereafter we have the usual parents' evenings and meetings in the same way as the rest of the school.

b) Other Year groups

Parents contact school are encouraged to meet the Head and visit school. Once a place is allocated and a start date agreed your child's teacher can prepare for the big day.

A mixture of staff and pupil "buddies" will make newcomers welcome and parents are encouraged to keep close contact with class teachers during the settling in period.

If we have any concerns we will always contact you if we feel there are any "teething problems".

Once settled into school life we have the usual Parents Evenings etc.

Class Teachers, team leaders, deputies and Headteacher are always available for advice and support.
